Business idea

Combining proven business models, such as lending circles, rent-to-own, and peer-to-peer financing, Solar Corp. will build a new type of business that will address the basic lighting needs for those without access to power.

Solar Corp will enable people to temporarily redirect the money that they normally spend on fuel for lighting to the purchase of a durable, economical and environmentally friendly solar lighting system on a rent-to-own basis.

After a specified period, they will have a clean, safe lighting solution that will last them many years after the rental period has ended.

Business idea
FuelSplit is the mobile application that creates an incentive for carpooling!

The user simply types in the "from" and "to" destination, the cars' registration number and the number of people travelling. The application uses information from the register of swedish transport agency (Transportstyrelsen) to calculate the exact amount of fuel usage per km. FuelSplit then finally presents the amount that every carpooler should pay; this based on an updated average cost of fuel.

Background
Globe Forum Tour is a local follow-up to the “City Challenge” project which was launched at the Eurocities meeting in Stockholm 2009 where the then Deputy Prime Minister of Sweden, Maud Olofsson, in cooperation with GF announced a challenge posed to all cities in EU to become more sustainable.

Purpose
Globe Forum Tour has been developed with the intent to find local/regional innovators and to build a local ongoing process with the aim of promoting and developing a better platform for innovations linked to sustainable development. Another important factor is to create more business opportunities at the local level and uplift local innovations.

Globe Forum World Conference - Final 2010

Globe Forum Tour will visit 6 cities in Sweden before summer 2011. At each Tour Stop we arrange a local “Innovators contest” where 8-10 selected innovators present their innovations during a 60 second pitch on stage. Two winners will be selected and they will directly qualify for the grand finale at Globe Forum World Conference in Stockholm 11 May 2011, where they compete in free participation in Globe Forum's Facilitator program, worth 100 000 SEK.

The Globe Forum Tour Helsingborg:
Helsingborg Business Region has the privilege of hosting Globe Forum Tour 2011. The event takes place on March 3rd in Helsingborg. Over the last years, the City of Helsingborg has achieved a great deal of results by constantly pushing for realizing practical solutions for environmental improvements. This is a source of inspiration to us, and we are continuing our efforts to do better.

We are convinced that the exciting Innovation Contest, taking place during the Tour Stop in Helsingborg, will unveil new and interesting ideas to benefit from.
